About Proboreholedrillers
We run the whole borehole, from the survey that finds the water to the pump that lifts it.

Proboreholedrillers exists because getting a borehole in Kenya is harder than it should be. Most people do it once, spend close to a million shillings, and have to coordinate a geologist, two government authorities and a drilling crew with no idea what any of it should cost.
We take that off you. One point of contact runs the survey, the WRA and NEMA paperwork, the drilling, the yield and water tests and the pump, and you see the price of every line before we start.
How we work
We start with the survey, never with the rig. A hydrogeologist maps what is under your plot and tells us the likely depth and yield, and only then can anyone quote you honestly. If the survey says your site is a poor prospect, we will tell you that rather than sell you a hole.
The drilling is done by licensed rigs. We check the Water Resources Authority permit is current for every job we put a crew on, because an unpermitted borehole can be sealed and that risk lands on you, not on the driller.
How we price
Every quote is itemised: survey, permits, drilling per metre, casing, test pumping, water analysis and the pump. Bundling that into one number is how this market hides its margins, and it is why nobody can tell a fair quote from a padded one.
The rates published on this site come from what Kenyan drilling companies publish themselves, cross-checked between several rather than taken from one. Where they disagree we say so and give the range. If a figure here no longer matches the market, tell us and we will correct it.
What we will not do
We will not quote a depth over the phone, because depth is set by geology and anyone who names one before surveying your plot is guessing with your money.
We will not drill without the WRA and NEMA permits in place, however long the paperwork takes.

One team from the survey to the first glass of water
A borehole is five jobs bundled into one: the survey that finds the water, the permits that make it legal, the drilling, the test that proves the yield, and the pump. We run all five for you, with licensed rigs and a quote broken down line by line, so you know exactly what you are paying for before anyone starts.
- ✦ Survey first, so you drill where the water is
- ✦ WRA and NEMA permits handled for you
- ✦ A quote itemised at real market rates

Do you drill boreholes?+
Yes. We handle the whole project, from the hydrogeological survey and the WRA and NEMA permits through the drilling and testing to the pump. The drilling is carried out by licensed rigs we work with, and we manage the job end to end.
Where do your prices come from?+
From what Kenyan drilling companies publish themselves, cross-checked between several rather than taken from one. Where they disagree, we give the range. That is why the rates on this site are itemised per metre rather than given as a single number.
Can you tell me how deep my borehole will be?+
Not before a survey. Depth is decided by the aquifer under your specific plot, which is why the hydrogeological survey comes first. Anyone quoting you a depth over the phone is guessing.
Compared on what actually matters: published pricing, verifiable licences and boreholes finished.
